The Chocolate Museum is an independent museum established by Isabelle Alaya, a French artisan chocolatier, who started her own brand Melange Chocolate in the UK 5 years ago.
The Chocolate Museum is located in the very cosmopolitan, colourful and exciting area of Brixton, London, in the historic and conservation area of Ferndale Road, number 187. We aim to represent UK industry but also provide visitors with accurate information and quality products. Our menu offers (on a daily basis) traditional and flavoured hot chocolates, dark & white chocolate cakes, cookies, and samples of Melange Chocolate products. Or why not try out latest product, a tasting plate of single origin and artisan chocolates to share or indulge by yourself. You will discover a world of differences and distinctiveness.
Our collection encompasses a range of objects and memorabilia acquired over many years from different merchants and collectors. We have a permanent exhibition about worldwide chocolate history and the processing of chocolate on the main floor cafe area and an exhibition called The British History of Chocolate on the lower floor. Our oldest artefact dates back to the 18th century.
