Occurring on 2 days, your school or learning group has the opportunity to visit a free OPEN DOOR event to support Arts Award participants in the South West.. Our Riverside Gallery at the Devon Guild is showing an exhibition titled 'Hortus – A Dartmoor garden over time'. HORTUS is Latin for garden - and this exhibition by local artist, Jude Freeman - shows her etchings, drawings and photographs, accompanied by a range of historical information and artefacts about the garden at Hill Farm, one of the oldest dwellings on Dartmoor.
We will present an enlightening and informative talk about HORTUS where the artist or the co-curator discusses work in the show and ideas behind it. (May 23 & 24.) The event is aimed at supporting schools or groups delivering the Bronze award, however this can be flexible to the required level. Sessions may be up to one hour including talk, discussion, questions and a relevant activity about the work on show.
