Henry VIII's decision to become Supreme Head of the English Church gave rise to one of the most turbulent moments in English history, when individual conscience collided with an implacable political necessity and many lost their lives, often in very gruesome ways. This tour explores that confused time through the stories of the people involved.
Please meet me outside the Blackfriar pub, 174 Queen Victoria Street, opposite Blackfriars Underground Station: look out for my blue 'Footprints of London' hi-vis waistcoat.
The tour will go ahead regardless of the weather (unless there is an extreme weather warning). Please dress appropriately.
