For two centuries maritime trade brought life to the riverside East End, with sailors coming from all over the world bringing stories of faraway places with strange-sounding names. But in the 1970s this life flowed away downriver to Tilbury and the coast.
This tour celebrates the glory days of the East End's maritime story and the many experiences of the merchant seaman ashore.
