Do you know that there is a herb that grows everywhere in Britain and we can make a delicious, healthy, herbal tea out of it ourselves?
We at T-Lovers feel that it is the best kept secret tea that nobody knows about, but is so good, tasty and packed with all the nutrients and elements that more people need to know about it! It’s also very easy to find, harvest and make it. We just need to know where and how, and this masterclass is exactly about that, lead by our herbalist Victoria who has generations of women in the family as herbalists and healers. So next time we are out in the countryside walking through the meadows and fields of Britain and Ireland, we can collect it and then make our own tea! What can be better than that?
In this practical Masterclass we will TASTE different kinds of Rosebay Willow teas from different countries, seasons and fermentation processes to experience the variety of it from all over the world. And we will learn:
about Rosebay Willow tea – how it looks, where it grows, it’s story and history
about its health properties
how, where and when to collect it
how to process it: drying and fermentation
how to brew it and what are the best snacks/sweets to have it with
and much much more!
At the end of this workshop we will have this tea with honey and snacks and will have some time for socialising and questions. There will also be an opportunity to purchase different herbal teas.
Victoria grew up in the mountainous area of Georgia in the family of herbalists and healers. This knowledge of plant medicine was passed through generations from women to women. Victoria learned a everything from them as well as simply absorbing the knowledge from mountains of Georgia, from flowers and herbs, from sunshine and dew – having the nature as her teacher too. She and her family collect a lot of herbs in the pristine and organic area of the mountains of Georgia in accordance to the moon cycle, before sunrise, and are dried on pine wood in the shadow. It’s a rare opportunity to have her with us giving a talk about this magical beautiful tea here at Uluntu.
