Let’s talk about theatre and society.
Let’s make performances and discuss new ideas together.
Let’s take part in building a small community that thinks big.
Dialogue, in collaboration with Ovalhouse, Culturebot, Something Other and Theatre Bristol, present Talking/Making/Taking Part: a two-day festival of informal discussions and interactive performances. It invites you to take a journey through the private and public spaces at Ovalhouse, encountering theatre-makers, artists, gamers and thinkers from across the UK. Come for a day, or the whole weekend, to play, chat, discover and share.
The programme – different on each day – includes:
OPENING DISCUSSIONS led by Andy Horwitz (Culturebot, USA). On Saturday he’ll be joined by Jess Thom (Tourette’s Hero) and Hassan Mahamdallie, and on Sunday by Julia Taudevin and Jo Bannon.
AFTERNOON IDEAS led by Tanuja Amarasuriya (Theatre Bristol) on Saturday 22, and Mary Paterson (Something Other) on Sunday 23.
Talking/Making/Taking Part invites you to play, chat and share - and eat - through informal discussions and interactive performances. Let’s spend a weekend together and see what new ideas we can grow and communities we can build.
Concessions are £5
£10 | £8 concessions
Home-cooked Lunch will be provided FREE in the cafe on both days.
Plus, if you really want to make a weekend of it, join us for Dialogue Theatre Club: like a book group, but for theatre. On Saturday evening we’ll transfer to the Gate Theatre, W11, for a preview performance of Chimera – a funny, frightening glimpse at one woman’s unravelling personality. Then we’ll start Sunday morning back at Ovalhouse with an informal discussion sharing what we thought of the show.
