The pleasures (and pitfalls) of wine, beer and spirits have been with us for centuries.
Treasure Hunts in London present a drink related treasure hunt around the Museum of London exploring London’s link with wine, beer and spirits.
It is well known that, from the 8th century, the British lower classes drank ales, ciders and mead as part of their staple diet due to the unsafe water supply. But did you know wine has been made since 7000 B.C or that the industrial revolution brought new technology to alcohol production and the birth of 60% proof gin?
Come and discover treasures of London's past in the Museum of London and hunt out interesting facts about our drinking heritage.
